Backup — Recovery-Ready, Always
Recovery-ready, always.
Backup is not a set-it-and-forget-it technology. It is a continuously managed recovery capability. The Sentinel iQ platform protects your business data where it lives today: in your cloud environment. Every email, file, SharePoint site, and Teams conversation is backed up automatically, tested, and recoverable when you need it. Because needing your backup is never convenient.

The Backup layer integrates with the Sentinel iQ monitoring and alerting system. Backup job failures generate automated alerts and trigger investigation workflows. Backup health status is visible through the Sentinel iQ Client Portal alongside your security posture and compliance status.
FAQ
Does Microsoft 365 automatically back up my data?
No. Microsoft 365 does not provide comprehensive data backup. Microsoft's infrastructure is backed up for their own disaster recovery, not for individual business data recovery. If files are accidentally deleted, overwritten, or encrypted by ransomware, Microsoft's retention policies may not protect you. Sentinel iQ backs up your Microsoft 365 data continuously and independently.
What is business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR)?
Business continuity and disaster recovery is a combined strategy for keeping operations running during a major disruption like a ransomware attack, hardware failure, or natural disaster. Restoring systems as quickly as possible afterward. Advanced BCDR includes local appliance backup plus cloud failover, allowing systems to spin up virtually within minutes of an incident.
How often should a small business test its backups?
Backup testing should happen on a scheduled basis (at minimum monthly) to confirm that data is actually recoverable before you ever need it. Many businesses discover their backup failed only when they try to recover from an incident. Sentinel iQ tests backup jobs automatically and alerts the security team when a test fails or a backup job is missed.
